Website Improvements
The previously announced update to our website is now complete. With its new, larger, higher capacity data base both customers and users will benefit from a significantly faster access to the stored information. This will be seen particularly in operations that search for products and commercial information.
Additionally, we will be using this increased capacity to provide a much larger range of on-line products. This has already commenced with the addition of over 100 new Denios Spill Protection and Printshop management products.

Areas affected by adoption of SAP in Sun Chemical’s Global Business
Sun Chemical is pleased to confirm that SAP has been selected as its integrated business solution. The system is geared towards enabling every business area to excel and will see all our existing legacy systems integrated into a single SAP platform.
All Sun Chemical staff are dedicated to the smooth completion of this project and to ensure minimum impact on our customers.SAP has been introduced throughout Sun Chemical in a phased approach due to the fact that business systems are being affected globally.
The UK implementation of the system is scheduled to take place on 3 March 2008 and upon completion certain changes within our operating procedures will take effect.
Please see a summary below of the areas that are being affected.
Customer Service
Contacts for order entry will not be affected by implementation of SAP. All contact details within Sun Chemical will remain the same and customers can continue using it as before.
New Forms
A new set of forms (invoices, delivery notes, order confirmation, etc.) will be implemented. Samples of these new forms accompany this letter to allow you to become familiar with the new format and layout.
New Labelling
Sun Chemical packaging labels are being improved across Europe as a result of SAP implementation. The new labels are easily recognisable and due to their functional nature, act as a further improvement to our customers service and product value.
Timing of Orders
To minimise errors during the changeover to SAP, your cooperation will be appreciated when it comes to placing orders. Our on-line system will not be able to handle the processing or delivery of any orders during the period of 28 February – 2 March 2008 inclusive, therefore no orders will be taken during this time.
Please ensure that your stock levels are maintained by ordering additional material in advance, if necessary. Products needed during this “black-out” period will be shipped before 28 February 2008, therefore your requirements should be estimated beforehand and orders placed in time. Our sales representatives are happy to work with you to anticipate your needs during this period.
Systems implementation can be challenging at the best of times, but we assure you that all Sun Chemical employees are committed to the smooth implementation of SAP with minimum impact on our customers.
Your cooperation and assistance during this period is greatly appreciated. We will ensure that the highest level of service is maintained during this change-over period. Should you require any further information or have any questions, feel free to contact your assigned sales representative.

WEBSITE IMPROVEMENTS
With the increasing popularity of the Sun Chemical Consumables’ Website we are expanding the product ranges on offer, especially in the areas of Safety Products, Spill Handling Equipment, First Aid Materials and Screen Products.
To achieve this we will need to carry out some essential maintenance and further expand the site’s capacity.
Unfortunately, this may mean that there could be some short periods of downtime. We are, however, working to ensure that these are kept to a minimum and cause as little inconvenience as possible. Please accept our apologies, should you be affected.
In the event of a period of downtime, product information may be obtained by contacting your usual Sun Chemical Account or Technical Services Manager and orders placed by calling your Regional Sales Office.

Y silicone? … No, Y5
Sun Chemical Consumables has been actively introducing its new Silicone solutions to the Heatset market in 2006.
Through the year we have worked with customers and our development partner Wolfgang Spielberger to formulate the “new generation” of Silicone products.
This has cumulated in the Y5, a silicone solution not based on solid content but a product that helps optimise press speeds, cleans applicator roller and press super structures whilst helping both mechanical and manual handling.
We don’t just throw waxes at it!
Due to a patented manufacturing system we can help improve quality and reduce overall silicone spend.
Cost x usage = Spend.
Quality x spend = Y5.
